Romae non fuit dies

My project for the last few days has been installing a heavy duty driveway entrance to our new building. I am re-porpoising the broken concrete as an extended "earth Day" project interlocking them then filling the remaining crevices with a clay laden fine grade fill sand. The surface will be topped with road grade limestone gravel to pack it down sufficiently for JD's King Tiger to transverse it. Eventually topping it with 6" of concrete is the plan.

About every free moment has been spent on this baby.

A great deal of hand labor wresting the chunks into place.

Man, that is a lot of heavy work. Good thing you are young and can handle it, but do take it easy. I spent all day in the garage working on a genset and radial arm saw that I bought at an estate sale next door. It was a very nice day reaching 68F with variable winds and afternoon clouds. Rain showers are in our forecast for the next coupla days, then rain/snow mix on Fri /Sat.

Rome wasn't built in a day but give me a week or so.... We barely clipped 65 F here today a bit breezy however, a pleasant change from the howling winds of February. I have some contentious banking to get at in the morning but the rest of the day hopefully will be devoted to getting more broken concrete into place with as much fill placed before the rains said for Thursday arrive.

One time I did stop in for a gym membership over the winter and the bank stopped payment on my credit card thinking it was stolen!

KFC is our "picnic" choice when it comes to finger licking goodness! More work on it today too.
